Publication Ethics Overview

To maintain manuscript quality and avoid publication or plagiarism violations in the publishing process, the editorial board establishes the ethics of scientific publication for Dharmawangsa: International Journal of The Social Sciences, Education and Humanities. These ethical rules apply to authors, editors, reviewers, and journal managers, referencing the guidelines established by The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Author Ethics
  1. Reporting: Authors must provide honest, clear, and comprehensive information about their research process and findings to the editors, and store research data safely and properly.
  2. Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original, written by themselves, derived from their own ideas, and do not copy the work or ideas of others. Authors are strictly prohibited from misattributing cited reference sources.
  3. Multiple / Redundant Submissions: Authors must confirm that submitted manuscripts have not been published or submitted simultaneously to another journal or publisher. If redundancy is detected, the editor will reject the manuscript.
  4. Author Qualifications & Authorship: Authors must hold relevant competence or qualifications in their scientific discipline. The submitting author (first/corresponding author) is responsible for addressing any issues that arise during the publication process.
  5. Errors in Manuscripts: Authors must notify the editor immediately if errors are found in their manuscript during the review or editing stages. Errors include author names, affiliations, quotations, or substantive text, and prompt corrections must be submitted.
  6. Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must adhere to publication ethics to prevent conflicts of interest, ensuring a smooth and transparent publishing workflow.
Editor Ethics
  1. Publication Decisions: Editors must ensure the manuscript review process is comprehensive, transparent, objective, fair, and wise, serving as the basis for accepting or rejecting submissions.
  2. Publication Information: Editors must ensure that submission guidelines and publication information remain clearly accessible to authors and stakeholders in both print and electronic formats.
  3. Peer-Review Management: Editors must select qualified reviewers, provide necessary evaluation materials, and clearly communicate review guidelines and timelines.
  4. Objectivity and Neutrality: Editors must remain objective, neutral, and fair, evaluating manuscripts without bias regarding gender, commercial interests, ethnicity, religion, race, or citizenship of the authors.
  5. Confidentiality: Editors must maintain strict confidentiality regarding author details and submitted manuscript contents.
  6. Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Editors must uphold publication ethics to avoid conflicts of interest, ensuring impartial decision-making.
Reviewer Ethics
  1. Objectivity and Neutrality: Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts professionally, objectively, and independently based solely on scientific merit, without bias toward author demographics or institutional affiliations.
  2. Accuracy of Reference Sources: Reviewers must ensure that citations and references are accurate and credible. Any detected omissions or improper citations must be reported to the editor for correction.
  3. Timeliness of Peer-Review: Reviewers must complete evaluations within the agreed timeframe (maximum 2 weeks). Requests for additional time must be communicated promptly to the editorial secretariat.
  4. Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers must declare any potential conflicts of interest before agreeing to review a manuscript.
Journal Management Ethics
  1. Decision-Making Integrity: Journal managers must uphold the organization's mission and objectives, ensuring publishing policies and decisions remain free from commercial or personal interests.
  2. Editorial Autonomy: Journal managers must respect and protect the independence of editors and reviewers, creating a constructive working environment while respecting author privacy.
  3. Guarantees & Promotion: Journal managers must safeguard intellectual property rights (copyrights), maintain financial transparency, and actively promote published articles to maximize public and academic benefit.
  4. Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Journal managers must enforce publication ethics to prevent conflicts of interest across all administrative operations.
