Lisensi

Every article published in Syntax: Journal of Software Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology (e-ISSN 2723-0538) is released as fully open access under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). This page states the licensing terms that apply to the full text, the article metadata, and any supplementary material, and explains what readers, authors, and third parties may lawfully do with the published work.

1. License Statement

Unless stated otherwise on the article page itself, all content published by Jurnal Syntax from Volume 1 (2020) onward is licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. The license is applied at the moment of publication, is irrevocable for as long as the user complies with its terms, and is displayed in three places so that it is visible to both human readers and machines:

  • On every article landing page — a license badge and a hyperlink to the full legal code at creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0.
  • Inside every PDF galley — a license notice printed in the article footer, so the terms travel with the file when it is downloaded or redistributed.
  • In the machine-readable metadata — the license URI is embedded in the article's Crossref deposit and in the journal's OAI-PMH records, allowing indexing services, repositories, and harvesters to detect the license automatically.
Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International

2. What the License Permits and Requires

✓ YOU ARE FREE TO

  • Share — copy and redistribute the article in any medium or format, including printing, posting to a repository, or embedding in course material.
  • Adapt — remix, translate, transform, and build upon the article for any non-commercial purpose, including deriving datasets, figures, or teaching slides from it.
  • Mine — perform text and data mining on the full text and metadata without seeking additional permission.

The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as you follow the license terms.

! UNDER THE FOLLOWING TERMS

  • Attribution — give appropriate credit to the author(s) and to Jurnal Syntax, provide the article DOI, link to the license, and indicate if changes were made.
  • NonCommercial — you may not use the material for commercial purposes or direct commercial advantage without separate written permission.
  • ShareAlike — if you remix or build upon the material, you must distribute your contribution under the same CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.
  • No additional restrictions — you may not apply legal terms or technological measures (such as DRM) that restrict others from doing anything the license permits.

Attribution must not suggest that the author(s) or the journal endorse you or your use of the work.

3. Recommended Attribution Format

CITATION FORMAT

Author(s). (Year). Title of the article. Syntax: Journal of Software Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, Volume(Issue), page range. https://doi.org/10.46576/syntax.xxxx — Licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.

WHEN YOU ADAPT

State clearly that the work has been modified, for example: “This figure is adapted from [full citation], licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. The adaptation is the responsibility of the present author(s).”

4. Copyright Holder

Copyright Retained by Authors

Authors retain full copyright and unrestricted publishing rights over their work. By submitting to Jurnal Syntax, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive right of first publication and the right to distribute the article under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. No transfer of copyright to the publisher is required at any stage.

Metadata License

Bibliographic metadata (title, authors, affiliations, abstract, keywords, references, and DOI) may be reused, redistributed, and mined without restriction and without charge for any purpose, including commercial indexing and discovery services.

Third-Party Material

Where an article reproduces figures, tables, instruments, or extended quotations owned by a third party, that material remains under its original license. Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission and for stating the source in the caption; such material is excluded from the article-level CC license.

Author Warranty

By accepting the license, the author(s) warrant that the work is original, that they are entitled to grant the license, and that the article does not infringe the copyright, privacy, or proprietary rights of any third party.

5. Self-Archiving and Reuse by Authors

  • Submitted version (preprint) — may be posted at any time on a preprint server, personal website, or institutional repository, with no embargo.
  • Accepted version (postprint) — may be posted immediately after acceptance, with an acknowledgement that the article has been accepted for publication in Jurnal Syntax.
  • Published version (version of record) — may be posted immediately, with no embargo, provided the article DOI and the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license notice are included.
  • Reuse in derivative scholarship — authors may reuse their own text, figures, and data in theses, dissertations, book chapters, and teaching material without requesting permission, subject to citation of the original article.

6. Requesting Commercial Permission

The NonCommercial condition does not prohibit commercial reuse outright; it requires prior written permission. Requests for commercial licensing — for instance inclusion in a commercial course pack, a for-profit anthology, or a commercial product — should be addressed to the corresponding author as copyright holder, with a copy to the editorial office at admin_syntax@dharmawangsa.ac.id. The editorial office will forward the request and, where the author consents, confirm the terms in writing.
