Author Guidelines

Please read and follow these guidelines carefully before submitting your manuscript to Jurnal Syntax.

Manuscript Template & Online Submission

All articles must be written in Indonesian or English using Microsoft Word (.docx) and strictly adhere to the official template.

General Requirements

  • Language: The manuscript must be written in standard English.
  • Length: Maximum of 10 pages (A4 size), including all figures, tables, and references without appendixes. Additional pages will incur an extra fee.
  • Submission Portal: Authors must register and login to submit articles via the official Jurnal Syntax Online Portal.

Manuscript Structure

TITLE

Should contain as few words as feasible while accurately summarizing the substance (Cambria, Center, Bold, 16pt).

AUTHORS

Full names without academic titles/job titles, accompanied by institutional affiliations, full address, and active email addresses.

ABSTRACT

Between 100 and 250 words. Must clearly state the research aim, proposed method/solution, key findings, and conclusions. Fully self-explanatory; avoid citing literature, references, or uncommon abbreviations.

KEYWORDS

Provide 5 to 7 keywords separated by commas for indexing services.

INTRODUCTION

Must contain at least 3 distinct paragraphs:

  • Paragraph 1: Background, problems, and facts supporting the research.
  • Paragraph 2: State-of-the-art / related works (at least 5 previous studies).
  • Paragraph 3: Research gap, positioning, and defined objectives.
METHOD

Explain the research chronology, design, procedures (algorithms, pseudocode, etc.), case studies, data sources, and validation methods.

RESULTS & DISCUSSION

Systematic presentation of results using clear figures, graphs, and tables. Comprehensive discussion comparing findings with cited literature is required.

CONCLUSION

Synthesize main findings, contributions, implications, limitations, and future research directions without repeating the abstract.

REFERENCES

Must strictly meet the following criteria:

  • Quantity: Minimum 20 references.
  • Primary Sources: At least 80% from reputable, peer-reviewed journals (with DOI) published within the last 5 years.
  • Reference Manager: Must be managed using Mendeley.
  • Citation Style: IEEE Style with bracketed numbering, e.g., [1].

Tables, Figures, & Formulas

Tables

Numbered consecutively (e.g., Table 1. Category). Caption and description must be placed ABOVE the table.

Figures / Images

Numbered consecutively (e.g., Figure 1. Context Diagram). Caption and description must be placed BELOW the figure.

Formulas

Mathematical equations must be clearly written using Equation Editor, numbered sequentially, and all variables defined.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items:

  • The manuscript is my/our original scientific work and free from any plagiarism issues.
  • The manuscript has never been published previously and is not currently under review by another journal/conference.
  • The manuscript is formatted using Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) according to the official Jurnal Syntax template.
  • The submitted document does not exceed 10 A4 pages including all figures, tables, and references.
  • The abstract is concise, written in English, and does not exceed 250 words.
  • Keywords are written in English (5 to 7 phrases).
  • Citations and references strictly follow the IEEE Style generated via Mendeley Reference Manager.
