Plagiarism Statement

The Jurnal Syntax strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism. We are committed to publishing only original material that has not been previously published or is currently under review elsewhere. Authors are entirely responsible for the originality of their submitted work.

Similarity Check Process

✓ Maximum Similarity: 25% All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Syntax are thoroughly screened for plagiarism using Turnitin software before proceeding to the peer-review stage. Manuscripts exceeding the established threshold will be returned to the authors or directly rejected.

Unacceptable Practices

The following practices are considered academic misconduct and are strictly prohibited in this journal:

Direct Plagiarism

Word-for-word copying of someone else's work, completely or partially, without using quotation marks and without proper attribution/citation.

Mosaic Plagiarism

Borrowing phrases from a source without using quotation marks, or finding synonyms for the author's language while keeping to the same general structure and meaning without proper citation.

Self-Plagiarism

Reusing significant, identical, or nearly identical portions of one’s own previously published work without acknowledging that one is doing so (including Salami Slicing).

Sanctions and Actions

If plagiarism or academic misconduct is detected at any stage, the Editorial Board will take the following actions based on the severity of the case:

1. During the Initial Screening

If the Turnitin similarity score exceeds 25%, the manuscript will be immediately returned to the author for revision or rejected outright, depending on the nature of the overlap.

2. During the Peer-Review Process

If reviewers identify plagiarism or unethical practices, the review process will be halted, and the manuscript will be formally rejected. The author may be banned from submitting future manuscripts.

3. After Publication

If plagiarism is proven after the article has been published, Jurnal Syntax reserves the right to issue a formal Retraction. The article will remain on the website marked as "RETRACTED," and relevant indexing databases will be notified.
