Abstract

This study is aimed to elaborate inventory policies which relevant to be used by the distributor company of imported goods in Indonesia. The study is based on the emergence of inventory management problems with the appearance of potential losses on production lead time that takes a long time and the effect of fluctuations in currency exchange rates. This study method uses qualitative methods with a case study in one of the distributor companies of imported goods specializing in the telecommunications network hardware provider. Through this study, inventory management policies were found to overcome production lead time and risk mitigation of exchange rate fluctuations.
