Optimizing the Role of Office Administrators in Supporting Public Services at the Sei Tualang Raso District Office

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the optimization of the role of office administrators in supporting public services at the Sei Tualang Raso Sub-district Office. Office administrators play a crucial role in supporting smooth service delivery through file reception, letter recording, archive management, document preparation, information services, and administrative coordination with related work units. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that office administrators contribute to creating more orderly, fast, accurate, and documented public services. Optimization of these roles can be achieved through improving employee competency, work discipline, communication skills, administrative accuracy, utilization of information technology, and strengthening internal coordination. However, service implementation still faces several obstacles, such as limited infrastructure, a suboptimal digital archiving system, a relatively high workload, device or network disruptions, and a lack of public understanding of service requirements. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the administrative system, simplify the service flow, increase the capacity of the apparatus, and utilize technology sustainably. This study concludes that optimizing the role of office administration is a crucial factor in supporting effective, transparent, professional, and satisfaction-oriented public services at the Sei Tualang Raso Sub-district Office.
