Abstrak

The growth of digital payments in Indonesia has driven the emergence of a cashless ecosystem that offers convenience and transaction efficiency. However, this convenience also has the potential to increase consumerist behavior and impulsive purchases due to the reduced psychological barriers when making payments. In addition to digital promotions, consumption behavior within the cashless ecosystem is also influenced by social interaction and self-control. This study aims to analyze the influence of social interaction on the spread of wasteful behavior as well as the role of collective self-control in maintaining the stability of the cashless ecosystem. The study employs an Agent-Based Modeling (ABM) approach using NetLogo, varying the parameters of interaction radius and collective self-control. Simulation results show that increased social interaction accelerates the spread of wasteful behavior and increases the dominance of wasteful agents in the population. Conversely, higher levels of collective self-control can suppress the spread of wasteful behavior, reduce impulsive transactions, and maintain system stability. These findings indicate that consumption behavior in a cashless ecosystem is influenced not only by individual decisions but also by social interactions and collective control mechanisms within society.
