IMPLEMENTATION OF THE STUDENT TEAM ACHIEVEMENT DIVISION LEARNING MODEL TO IMPROVE STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES AT MTS BABUL ULUM MEDAN

Abstract


This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak through the implementation of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model in class VII-I MTs Babul Ulum Medan in the 2023/2024 academic year. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) carried out in two cycles, where each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 30 students. Data were collected through observations of teacher and student learning activities, as well as learning outcome tests in each cycle. The results of the study showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes after the implementation of the STAD learning model. In pre-cycle conditions, only 6 students (20%) achieved the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). After the action in cycle I, learning completion increased to 17 students (56.66%), and in cycle II it increased again to 26 students (86.66%). The average class score also increased from 51.83% in the pre-cycle, to 65.33% in cycle I, and 80% in cycle II. In addition, student learning activities and motivation also increased. Teacher activity increased from 76% (good) to 91.42% (very good), while student activity increased from 77.14% (good) to 97.14% (very good). These findings indicate that the implementation of the STAD type cooperative learning model is effective in improving student learning outcomes and motivation in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak.
