PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOPERAKTIF TIPE NUMBERRED HEADS TOGETHER DALAM MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN PAI DI SMP IT AL-MUNADI MEDAN

Abstrak

The learning motivation of Grade VIII-1 students in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subject at SMP IT Al-Munadi Medan was classified as low, evidenced by a lack of student engagement during the learning process. This study aimed to enhance student learning motivation through the implementation of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning model. The study employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted over two cycles, each comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data on learning motivation were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The results demonstrated a gradual improvement in student learning motivation: shifting from a pre-action state dominated by the "low" category to a "moderate" category in Cycle I, and finally reaching "high" and "very high" categories for the majority of students in Cycle II. These findings indicate that the NHT model is effective in boosting student learning motivation in PAI, as it fosters collaboration, individual responsibility within the group, and active student participation in the learning process.
