Abstract


ABSTRACT

This study aims to identify and describe the strategies carried out by Medan Denai Embroidery & Convection in community-based business development.

The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. In this study, the subjects of the study were (1) the management of the Medan Denai Embroidery & Convection, and (2) Members involved in community-based convection business development activities. And informants who were selected as research subjects were treated as samples. While the object of research is the Medan Denai Embroidery & Convection strategy in developing community-based businesses in Tegal Sari Village.

The result of this research is the development strategy of the Medan Denai Embroidery & Convection business by using the community as the basis for the strength of business development through savings and loans which have proven to be quite effective in improving the economy of the people in the chess-pronged area. In this study also found weaknesses in the development strategy of the Medan Denai Embroidery & Convection business, namely limited technology, difficulty in marketing production, difficulty in finding raw materials, and poorly trained human resources. Therefore, the authors provide recommendations, namely the need for better assistance from both the government and the private sector, especially in overcoming the problem of the difficulty of getting less raw materials so that when receiving lots of orders it is not hampered because of the difficulty of raw materials.
